Tommy Scott’s musical career started in a piano class when he was 11 years old at Drew Academy in Houston, TX. Being a son of a piano player and a guitar player, Tommy had a natural talent for reading, hearing, and playing music and quickly became one of the top pianists in class after just a year of playing. His mother enrolled him into Kingwood Music School, where his musical training continued under Lita Consolacion. From her training not only did Tommy fully have an understanding of advanced music theory, but he also mastered the art of classical music.
Throughout Jr. High and High School under Lita’s training Tommy ranked as one of the top pianists of his aged group and as the number one musician in the Aldine School District. Tommy played in the school orchestra, ballet, Choir, and more. He has won many competitions such as State, GUILD, and even the NAACP. At the age of 16 Tommy was selected out of many applicants from across the globe into the famous Rice University Summer Program for Musicians. Mr. Scott has played in the Brazosport College Jazz Band and earned a Music Theory Teaching Certificate from Houston Baptist University, as well as a Degree in accounting at Florida A&M University.
