The modern music programs focus on music from the 50s and 60s up to the music of today. Sessions will help you play the music that you love, whether it is rock, pop, country, blues, R&B, or jazz. This unique focus on modern music helps keep students motivated and engaged and creates fast and effective musical progression. Students will also be able to take part in fun and exciting performances as part of the modern music program as well. These performances consist of festivals, local businesses, and at Houston’s top venues. Performance is a part of music education (one of the fun parts!) and we aim for all our students to be comfortable on stage, sharing their talents and hard work!

Curriculum

Our modern music curriculum focuses on music from the 50s until today. Each student creates a customized educational plan with their instructor to focus on the music they love and achieve their uniquely desired goals. This plan will assured that you don’t waste your time learning techniques you don’t need, skills that don’t help you, and playing songs that don’t interest you! Our goal is to keep things engaging and fun without sacrificing the development of a solid, musical foundation.

Technology

Incorporating the latest music technology is an essential aspect to the Sessions methodology. Our state-of-the-art facility provides instructors and students with the tools to inspire and progress. Every lesson includes full recording capabilities, Mac Pro Computers, flat screen televisions, and video monitoring to allow for lesson playback, interactive exercises, and quality assurance. These tools, paired with our digital portal, create an interactive, digital, and effective educational experience. Students will also be given the opportunity to learn influential music technologies common in the world of modern music.
