Karl Cook began playing guitar at the age of 16. Self taught, though a late starter, he dedicated himself to the art of music. With the guidance of a very musical family, he soon began playing in rock, metal, blues, and reggae bands. In these bands Karl played an array of instruments— guitar, bass, and ukulele being the most common.
After graduating from high school (where he assisted in teaching guitar), Karl went to Houston Baptist University. At HBU, Karl pursued music fervently, playing at every opportunity, teaching, studying music theory, and recording.
Karl is an avid “gear nerd” and loves to talk about the vast world of guitar equipment. In addition to playing music, he also produces and engineers for other artists and has also been involved in the making of music videos. For himself, he sings, plays guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards in the rhythm & blues group Frankie Is A Cyborg.
